I wasn't really sure what I was going to call this one when I started building it. I knew I wanted it yellow, but hadn't given the name much thought.
Once I got the paint on, it reminded me of that late afternoon sunlight. You know how the sun gets low and everything around the yard seems to quiet down a little? That's kind of what I was thinking about.
The paint didn't go on quite like I expected. Some parts of the cedar soaked up more than others. I thought about going over it again, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it the way it was. So I left it alone. I made the roof a little darker and called that part finished.
I still didn't have a name for it, though.
After I got everything put together, I stood back and looked at it for a while. That yellow still reminded me of the evening sun, and I kept thinking about how quiet the yard gets around that time.
Golden Still.
I thought that sounded about right.
