Fired Ground
I wasn't quite sure what to make of the color when I first painted this one. It came out darker than I expected, but I figured I'd leave it alone until I got everything put together.
Once it was finished, the color reminded me of clay ground that's been dried out by the summer sun. It had that earthy look to it, but there was something else about the color too. Almost like it had been scorched a little.
I hadn't really thought about a name until then.
The clay made me think of the ground, and that darker, burnt-looking color got me thinking about fire.
That's how I came up with Fired Ground.
And the more I thought about it, the more the name seemed to fit.
