I've made a few birdhouses out of cedar fence pickets. Some I've painted, and others I've just left the way they were. Funny thing is, even when I start out making two the same, they usually end up looking a little different.

I've also gotten into the habit of giving each one a name when I finish it. Sometimes it's the color, sometimes something about the wood, and sometimes a name just comes to mind.

Anyway, here are a few of the birdhouses I've made and how they got their names.
