JUST FOR FUN
Every bird has a plane. Every plane has a job.
Meet the Crew and Fleet
Carolina Chickadee · FenceBoard Flyer
Rodee likes to know what’s going on.
Carolina Chickadees are curious little birds, and Rodee is no different. If something changes around the birdhouses or there’s something new in the yard, he’s usually the one who goes to have a look.
That’s what Look-See is for. It’s his plane for making the rounds, checking the birdhouses, and seeing what else might be going on around here.
He doesn’t always find something.
But that doesn’t seem to stop him from looking.
Tufted Titmouse · FenceBoard Flyer
Tufted Titmice have a habit of carrying seeds away and storing them for later, often making one trip after another.
That seemed like a pretty good qualification for the Flyer who handles the deliveries around here. So when a puzzle, note, story, or something else needs to show up, Tess takes Mailbox.
Tess likes to get the job done, even when things don't go quite according to plan. She's patient with Rodee—most of the time.
She may not bring the mail every day. But when something arrives, there’s a good chance she had something to do with it.
Pileated Woodpecker · FenceBoard Flyer
Otis has been around a long time. If something gets loose, worn out, knocked crooked, or just isn’t working quite right, he’s usually the one who takes a look at it.
He’s always patching things up. It doesn’t always have to be pretty. It just has to work.
Otis doesn't much like being rushed, and he's been known to grumble when somebody interrupts him. But when something needs fixing, he's always there.
Which might explain why his old service plane is called Socket.
Carolina Wren · FenceBoard Flyer
Carly notices the little things. Carly is a curious little Carolina Wren. If something moves between the fence pickets or catches the light in the yard, she usually wants a closer look—and a picture.
That’s what Snap is for. It’s her plane for getting around the backyard, photographing the birdhouses, and finding pictures for Caught Passing By. Mission Control approves what goes on the board.
She can get sidetracked, but she gets the job done.
There’s just usually one more picture.
And Me — I’m Mission Control
Someone has to keep an eye on this crew.
The FenceBoard Flyers
Every now and then, the Flyers have an adventure of their own.
